RICHARD TACHÉ WINS ORVDA DEALER OF THE YEAR 2024 AWARD

The Ontario RV Dealers Association (ORVDA) has honoured Richard Tache, principal owner of Earlton RV, Kapuskasing RV, Timmins RV and Nighthawk RV, with the prestigious “ORVDA Dealer of the Year Award”, at its  Annual General Meeting.

“It’s a privilege to present this award on behalf of the ORVDA as we celebrate the individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the RV industry,” said Natalie Conway, Executive Director of ORVDA during a speech during the organization’s awards gala. “The RV Dealer of the Year award recognizes not just business success, but leadership, dedication to community, and a deep commitment to promoting the RV lifestyle.”

Taché said he appreciated the recognition and was quick to point out that the award belonged not only him, but also his staff and customers.

“I am honoured to have received this award,” said Taché. “It is representative of the commitment by all of our staff members to ensuring a high-quality customer experience, and of the faith our clients put in us by shopping with our dealerships for all of their RV needs, which we hold very dear. I want to thank each and every one of them.”

The Ontario Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (ORVDA) is a provincial, not for profit, professional trade association uniting over 170 RV dealer and associate members.  The ORVDA works to protect the interests of its members involved in the recreation vehicle industry.

“(Richard)has built a career around passion, innovation, and integrity,” continued Conway. “His journey started in 2010 when he took on the role of store manager at Earlton RV. With a clear vision for the future and a passion for customer service, it didn’t take long for him to purchase the dealership and lead it to new heights. His influence didn’t stop there.”

In 2020, Taché further expanded his business by acquiring Timmins RV and Kapuskasing RV. By 2022, he added Nighthawk RV and Sutton Bay Campground to his growing portfolio. His dealerships represent widely recognized brands such as Jayco, Grand Design, and Keystone, which has help them build a reputation for quality and service. His commitment to fostering community and customer engagement led to the creation of the Camp Life RV Show, which launched in Timmins in 2023 and became an instant success, drawing thousands of visitors and setting the stage for its annual return.

Conway said Taché had been an active and dedicated member of the ORVDA Board of Directors since 2020, consistently contributing to the association’s growth and stability. She added his leadership and collaborative nature have made him a key team player, always advocating for the best interests of the ORVDA and its members. His ability to introduce innovative, forward-thinking ideas has played a lead role in shaping strategies to ensure the association’s long-term success.

The criteria for the ORVDA Dealer of the Year award includes:

  • Community contributions: The dealer has made significant contributions to their local community
  • Customer service: The dealer provides exceptional customer service
  • RV industry commitment: The dealer demonstrates a commitment to the RV industry and promotes the RV lifestyle
  • Product variety: The dealer offers a wide variety of products
  • Integrity and credibility: The dealer is recognized by their peers and customers as having the highest integrity and credibility in their personal and professional life

“(Richard) has earned the trust and respect of his peers, customers, and the broader community through his integrity, relentless drive, and commitment to growth,” continued Conway during her speech. “He’s a driving force in his community, playing an active role in the Earlton Lions Club and the Temiskaming Bullseye Club, where he helps organize fundraising efforts and supports local events. His leadership extends into his personal life, where his family is deeply involved in the business, making his success a true family endeavor. It gives me great pleasure to announce that the 2024 Ontario RV Dealer of the Year is… Richard Tache.”

The provincial award automatically qualifies Taché as a finalist for the Recreational Vehicle Dealerships Association of Canada (RVDA Canada) award, to be presented at a joint RVDA Canada/RVDA (U.S.) gala to be held in Las Vegas in November.
