Breakfast

As you know breakfast is the most important meal of the day and let’s face it, it does get boring to eat packaged breakfasts, pastries or cold leftovers during an RV camping trip.

Here are a few ideas of easy and delicious camping breakfasts you can make.

Eggs

Eggs are affordable, easy to cook and nutritious! You can cook them on your RV stove or over a campfire. Crack as many eggs you think you’ll need for your trip into a container to save space in your fridge. Make either scrambled eggs or an omelette.

Monkey Bread

If you don’t know how easy it is to make monkey bread, now you do! It is a great camping breakfast even if it is on the sweet side. You can add raisins, apples and almonds to it.

You will need pre-made dough balls for this recipe. First, cut each ball into four pieces, place your Dutch oven over some coals to warm it up, then melt ½ sitck of butter in the base. Create a bag of cinnamon-sugar mixture and mix the dough balls in it until they are coated. Add the dough balls to the Dutch oven with any add-ins. Stir the mixture until it is coated in butter, sprinkle ½ cup of brown sugar into the pot and cook for about 30 minutes.

Smoothies

Smoothies are not only a great option for breakfast or a snack, but they are also very versatile. You can add in almost anything you want as long as it is blended. You only need a blender!

You can add protein, nut butters, fruits and vegetables along with a liquid of your choice (dairy or plant-based milk, water or juice).

Granola

Granola is another delicious option for breakfast or a snack, plus it is easy to make with only a few ingredients. It can be enjoyed with yogurt, milk, a smoothie or on its own. You can prepare it at home before your trip or in your RV kitchen.

You need oats, nuts, seeds, dried fruits and a sweetener, such as honey or maple syrup. Mix the dry ingredients then add a mixture of oil and your chosen sweetener. Mix together then spread onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 20 or 30 minutes. Stir halfway through.

Tin Foil Breakfast Sandwiches

This is a good old-fashioned camping breakfast made over a campfire.

Go with a classic ham and cheese sandwich or shake things up by adding eggs, hamburger patties, sausages, tomatoes, lettuce and any other toppings. Once you have assembled your sandwich, simply wrap it in a couple of layers of aluminum foil and put it next to the fire for about 20 minutes. Enjoy!
