Your RV season might just have ended, but it is time now to plan your next summer trips. Campgrounds sold out very quickly this year and it is anticipated to be the case again in 2021. With the current travel restrictions between Canada and the USA it is a good idea to plan RVing in Ontario. The province is filled with beautiful regions to discover.
Here is a short list of these regions.
Southwest Ontario
If you enjoy festivals, dining and the great outdoors Southwest Ontario is a great destination. It has over 900 km of shoreline, forest and parks in addition to the highest concentration of beaches and warm waters in the province. Let’s not forget the craft award-winning wines and tasty culinary experiences! The region has over 20,000 campsites and a growing list of glamping spots.
Hamilton, Halton and Brant
Hamilton, Halton and Brant is home to signature landscapes, including the Niagara Escarpment, Grand River, Bruce Trail, Lake Ontario shorelines and more than 100 waterfalls. The region offers great trails, recreational routes and outdoor activities. There are also many heritages sites, attractions and museums. The area is a good fit for any type of vacation!
Kawarthas Northumberland
If you have a sweet tooth, then Kawarthas Northumberland is for you. The area is Canada’s largest self-guided butter tart tour and home to the Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream outlet. The region has over 350 lakes and rivers, and is filled with forest. Make sure to bring a canoe, kayak or stand-up paddleboard if you plan to camp there. After all the Canadian Canoe Museum has made its home there near Peterborough.
