RV TIPS & TRICKS

Making a 2023 RVing bucket List

A new year for new adventures. While summer evenings around the campfire still feel like a long way off, it’s the perfect time to start planning this year’s RV trips. Whether you’re looking to explore more off-the-beaten-path locations or find a truly classic experience, check out our tips and ideas for creating your own 2023 RVing bucket list.

Begin with a brainstorming session

It’s time to dream big and lay out every possibility. No matter how far-fetched, there are no bad ideas at this stage. Gather your travel companions together, pull out a big piece of paper, and get those ideas flowing.

Dream and compare

The opposite of a brainstorming session can also be fun when planning travels with family or a partner. On their own, each person creates a list of destinations or activities they’d like to experience, and then the completed lists are compared. Discover where the lists overlap and make those a priority.

Think big

Is this the year you embark on a big bucket list trip? Just imagine a multi-week trip through the Maritimes, up the Dempster Highway in the Yukon, across Canada, or maybe even south down the Oregon coast.

Think small

Because we all know bigger isn’t always better, how about adding a local trip to your bucket list? Maybe you only have a weekend to explore, or you’re looking to reduce fuel costs, whatever the reason, playing tourist in your own region can be just as rewarding.

Take in a festival or event

Add a fun experience to your vacation by combining your RV trip with a stop at a music festival, fair, or stampede. Many special events even offer on-site camping, so you’re fully immersed in the experience.

Think outside the traditional bucket list items

Many RVers list National or Provincial Parks as top bucket list destinations, and for good reason. However, it can be difficult to secure campground reservations at these hot spots. Look instead for more diverse destinations, heading to off-the-beaten-path locations and unique experiences.
