Campfire Hot Cocoa

Winter is the perfect time to gather and enjoy a hot cocoa.

This hot cocoa recipe is easy and delicious at home or around the campfire.

Ingredients and Supplies

For 8 people. Modify the recipe for a smaller number.

½ cup cocoa powder

? ½ cup of sugar (you can modify to match your sweeteness preference)

? 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon

? Pinch of salt

Mix dry ingredients and store them in an airtight container to bring to the campfire. Don’t forget the mugs!

? 8 cups milk of your choice (note that 1 cup of milk is needed for each individual mug of hot cocoa)

? Camp coffee pot or saucepan

Once at the campfire, heat milk in a camp coffee pot or saucepan over low heat. Add 2 tablespoons of hot cocoa mix to the bottom of each mug and top it with 1 cup of warm milk and stir until combined.

Camp Cooking Tip: Heat the milk slowly and don’t let it heat to a boil.

Note: Bring mini marshmallows as an added treat for the kids!
